Did they give a specific reason for the removal? Android has a web browser as part of the SDK and third party browsers exist, so it seems weird to me to not allow yours. I agree, it was very weird and unexpected to get rejected, since there are already full fledged browsers approved for Android TV.
Installed browser plugin and successfully installed Kodi on my Nexus Player. Nice alternative to always using ES. Why you needed to sideload it?????? Why would one sideload a plugin for a browser when presumably one could sideload the original app that had the browser included?
Just seems like that would make more sense if already going the sideloading route? Any suggestions or tips on how to make this work for me? Thanks again for all the great work you do with this site I have 3 Devices and the Shield and the software. The fix is to give the app file access permission. This can be done under the device settings or by uninstalling and then reinstalling the app and making sure to ALLOW permissions when asked.
Thanks for the response. I have tried the fix you mentioned to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still get the restricted access on the browser tab of downloader.
I have downloaded the add on 2 different ways and still not working. I have the same issue as Brian and nothing has worked to resolve this problem. Have you possibly come up with a correction?
I have the app on a second shield tv and it works without issue as well on my fire tv boxes too. Disregard my reply as I got it working.
In your firewall software, make sure no settings are active that might block downloads. Temporarily disabling the firewall will allow you to diagnose whether or not this is the source of your connection woes.
Incorrect Internet settings within Windows also cause problems. Try resetting these settings to their default state.
Open "Control Panel," and select "Network and Internet. Towards the bottom of the window, click on the "Reset" button. Check "Delete personal settings," and click "Reset.
Malware may disrupt your Internet connection if your computer becomes infected, so try installing and running anti-virus software to check for infections. If your connection is completely cut off, you may need to download the software from a working PC and transfer it to the potentially infected computer with removable media, such as a CD, DVD, or flash drive.
After the scan, restart your computer and test the connection by opening up your Web browser. It's urgent, and I need a solution to fix this problem. Help me! What's going on with my browsers? I've reboot PC several times, nothing worked. Are you having a similar problem with your internet browsers? Computer browsers all stop working without any signals after system update? Worry about losing browsing history?
All these problems can be fixed now with solutions offered in this article. Usually, when your internet browsers fail to work or not respond after the system update, the best way to solve this problem is to update browsers. You can directly update internet browsers from browser settings.
